FEES & PAYMENT

Investing in Your Care

Therapy is an investment in your well-being, and I believe you should have clear information about costs before beginning care.

Amplify Your Narrative is a private-pay practice, which means payment is made directly to the practice rather than billing insurance for services. If you have out-of-network benefits, you may be able to receive reimbursement from your insurance company for a portion of your therapy costs.

Below, you’ll find information about session fees, payment, out-of-network benefits, superbills, and options that may help make using those benefits a little easier.

Private Pay & Payment

Amplify Your Narrative is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. This means you are responsible for the cost of services at the time they are provided.

A valid payment method is kept securely on file and is charged according to the practice’s payment policies. You will receive documentation of your payments through the client portal.

Choosing private-pay therapy can offer greater flexibility in your care because treatment decisions are made between you and your therapist rather than being determined by an insurance company.

If your insurance plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement. Reimbursement is determined by your insurance plan and is not guaranteed.

Using Your Out-of-Network Benefits

Although Amplify Your Narrative does not bill insurance directly, some insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits that may reimburse you for a portion of your therapy costs.

You are responsible for paying the full session fee directly to the practice. If you choose to use out-of-network benefits, reimbursement is handled between you and your insurance company.

Superbills

Upon request, I can provide a superbill for eligible services. A superbill is a document that includes information your insurance company may require when you submit a claim for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

Providing a superbill does not guarantee that your insurance company will reimburse you. Coverage, deductibles, reimbursement rates, and claim requirements vary by plan.

Mentaya

For clients who would like additional support navigating out-of-network benefits, Amplify Your Narrative also offers access to Mentaya, a third-party service that may help you check your benefits and submit eligible out-of-network claims.

Mentaya is optional. You may choose to use Mentaya, submit superbills to your insurance company yourself, or choose not to use out-of-network benefits at all.

Any reimbursement estimate provided through Mentaya is an estimate only. Your insurance company ultimately determines your eligibility, coverage, and reimbursement.

Use the benefits checker to see whether your insurance plan may offer out-of-network reimbursement for services with Amplify Your Narrative.

Before beginning therapy: If you plan to use out-of-network benefits, consider contacting your insurance company to ask about your deductible, reimbursement rate, requirements for outpatient mental health services, and whether telehealth services are eligible for reimbursement.

Cancellations & Missed Appointments

Your scheduled appointment time is reserved specifically for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice.

Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice and missed appointments may be charged the full fee for the scheduled session.

Late cancellation and missed appointment fees are generally not eligible for insurance reimbursement or inclusion on a superbill.

I understand that unexpected circumstances can happen. Please contact the practice as soon as possible if you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment.

Good Faith Estimates

If you do not have insurance or choose not to use insurance for your therapy services, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining the expected cost of your care.

Before beginning treatment, Amplify Your Narrative will provide eligible clients with an individualized Good Faith Estimate based on the services that are reasonably expected at that time. Because the frequency and duration of therapy can change as your needs and goals evolve, your estimate may be updated when there are meaningful changes to your treatment.

A Good Faith Estimate is not a contract and does not require you to receive a particular number of sessions.

If you receive a bill that is substantially higher than your Good Faith Estimate, you may have rights under the federal No Surprises Act, including the ability to dispute certain charges.

Questions about your Good Faith Estimate can be discussed before beginning therapy or at any point during treatment.
